Mediation

Yvonne has completed a 40-hour course on the facilitative mediaton process taught by Judy Mares Dixon, an internationally recognized mediator. She is currently training in the Denver and Jefferson County Community Court Systems so that we may bring you the highest level of service possible.

What is Mediation?
Mediation is a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution that assumes those involved in a dispute are the experts of their experience and, if given the proper guidance and facilitation, they will come to a mutally acceptable resolution together.

What is Facilitative Mediation?
In facilitative mediation, the mediator structures a process to assist the parties in reaching a mutually agreeable resolution. The mediator asks questions, validates and normalizes parties' points of view, searches for interests underneath the positions taken by parties, and assists the parties in finding and analyzing options for resolution. A facilitative mediator does not make recommendations to the parties, give his or her own advice or opinion as to the outcome of the case, or predict what a court would do in the case. The mediator is in charge of the process, while the parties are in charge of the outcome (Mediation.com).
